Fiscal year 2025 financial data is now available in FIT

The Office of the Washington State Auditor has published fiscal year 2025 data in our latest update of the Financial Intelligence Tool (FIT).

FIT is a free, publicly available tool developed by the Office of the Washington State Auditor (SAO) that lets anyone explore financial data reported by Washington’s cities, counties and special purpose districts—from revenues and expenditures to cash and fund balances. Instead of digging through individual government reports, users can search, compare and visualize this data all in one place.

Our Office updates data in FIT about 30 days after the filing deadline for most Washington governments. This annual update is the largest of the year and adds data for all governments that submitted a report for fiscal year 2025 by June 30, 2026.

Note: This update does not include school district data, which have a different filing deadline. School district data was added to FIT in March.

Here’s a view of our latest update by the numbers:

• $85.5 billion in revenues to explore, including taxes, grants, fees and more
• 1,996 local governments out of 2,182 total in Washington now included

Which governments are missing from this update? Why on-time filing matters

FIT only includes governments that submitted their reports on time or within 30 days of the May 30 filing deadline, and those that were not editing their reports after they had submitted them. On-time and accurate reporting helps ensure all local governments, legislators, researchers, the media and the greater public all have access to the most complete and current financial information available.

When a government doesn’t file its annual report, its residents, legislators and researchers lose visibility into where that money is going. The following facts describe how unfiled reports impact your ability to search for governments in FIT:

• 186 missing reports represent nearly $3 billion in revenue not available to the public
• Five of 39 counties have not filed at all, consisting of an estimated $1.4 billion in combined revenues
• 32 of 281 cities are missing, consisting of an estimated $745 million in revenue
