Greetings Washington Finance Officers Association – the Washington State Auditor’s Office has trainings, sessions and resources just for you!

Sep 18, 2023

Hello, WFOA 2023! The State Auditor's Office is excited to be reconnecting with our partners in government accountability in the Lilac City (a.k.a. Spokane).

This year, we’re proud to offer three pre-conference trainings and 13 sessions. SAO staff will be presenting on topics like new BARS updates and annual filing system changes, federal grant management, and cybersecurity. And several of our “frauditors” will be there, sharing the latest fraud-prevention practices and insights at our ever-popular Fighting Fraud Friday. This year we are pleased to take fraud fighting to the ‘main stage’ during Friday’s general session.

As we do for every WFOA conference, we’ve created a special edition of our Audit Connection newsletter. In this issue, you'll hear from State Auditor Pat McCarthy and also get first access to a slew of SAO's latest resources and news. Highlights from this edition include a bank statement review playbook, guidance on informing SAO about new auditable governments, our menu of cybersecurity services, and an inside look at SAO’s workplace culture of care and growth.

Click on the image below to turn the pages of a special interactive version of this newsletter. The last page includes instructions on how to download and print your own PDF version.
